The result of this interaction can trigger an infectious disease.\n\nThe aim of microbiology and parasitology is the diagnosis, treatment and prophylaxis of infectious diseases in humans. In addition to collaborating with clinicians in obtaining adequate samples and providing therapeutic, diagnostic and infection control guidance, the field also deals with the control of multidrug-resistant infections and adequate use of antibiotics.\n\nFor some infections, early diagnosis and treatment can play a crucial role in healing patients, whereas a delay in establishing adequate antibiotic treatment for sepsis increases the risk of mortality.\n<h3>Which patients is it for?<\/h3>\nWe actively participate in diagnosing patients with suspected infectious diseases.\n\nSince infections can occur in any area of the body, we work closely with specialities such as Internal Medicine, Paediatric Medicine, Adult and Neonatal Intensive Care, Oncology, Haematology, Gynaecology and Surgery, as well as with those outside the hospital setting.\n<h3>Main conditions and diseases<\/h3>\nInfectious diseases caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses or parasites.\n<h3>Main diagnostic resources and technology<\/h3>\nWe have diagnostic resources to detect the microorganism causing the infection directly using microscopy, bacteria culture tests, mycobacteria testing, mycological tests and antigen detection.\n\nWe also have automated equipment for microbial identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing. In addition to PCR equipment to detect viruses.\n\nTo diagnose infectious diseases indirectly we use serological methods that detect the levels of specific antibodies against specific microorganism antigens.\n<h3>Special services<\/h3>\nWe have PCR equipment to detect microorganisms that cause infectious conditions.\n\nSample processing is carried out immediately as we have laboratory staff processing the samples 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.\n<h3>Why come to our clinic?<\/h3>\nThe Microbiology Service has specialist staff to diagnose infectious diseases with proven experience in the professional field and direct contact with the clinician to clear up patients\u2019 infections quickly.\n\nWe provide personalised care, resolving any questions patients may have about their results.\n\nYou do not need an appointment to drop off samples for processing.\n\nFor some infections, early diagnosis and treatment can play a crucial role in healing patients, whereas a delay in establishing adequate antibiotic treatment for sepsis increases the risk of mortality.
